Car theft can be prevented if you take care to park your car carefully and install some anti theft devices. There are visible of audible anti-theft devices which you might want in your car in order to get a chance to avail of the discount and avoid having your car stolen. These devices are Audible alarm system, steering wheel locks, steering column collars, theft deterrent decals, wheel locks, and window/VIN etching. Your car may or may not have these devices upon purchase. It will be so much the better for you if you can afford to have them all.
Finally, you should be aware that you can also install tracking system that will alert the local authorities should a car thief get past your car's security. It may not always be the case that your car will get stolen if you left it parked somewhere. Sometimes, you can be a victim of carjacking where your car gets stolen when you just opened it in a parking are for instance. The car thief might approach you from behind, point a gun at you, demand to have your keys and drive away with your precious wheels.
