Study of the Creation of Heaven, Earth and Man Part 2

Praise the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

In part 1 of our study we covered the creation of heaven, earth and man. We went into detail concerning the length of each day of creation seeing God is not bound by time but we are and the Apostle Peter testifies concerning this truth that a day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as one day. ( 2 Peter 3:8 ) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

We shared with you that God is not bound by our time and that his habitation is eternity. Isaiah 57:15) For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. (Psalms 90:2) Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. God is not bound by our time.

We covered how God made mankind (adam mankind the host of earth or mass of persons) on the 6th day and that o the 8th day formed ( HaAdam the man or my people) through whom would come the Lord Jesus Christ. We covered up to Chapter 3 where we will pick up our teaching on the creation of heaven, earth and man.

(Genesis 3:1) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Now here I want to puase and discuss the serpent here in verse 1. So often we have painted the image that a literal snake was talking to Eve rapped around the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This I believe is as false as the idea of man being an immortal and not a living soul (Nephesh).

The word serpent is from the Hebrew word Nachash which means a shinning one. This being used to describe the devil and this same term used in (Numbers 21:6,9) 6And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 9And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

These fiery or burning serpents are described as such because of the burning sensation that was felt as a result of being bitten by them. The Hebrew word used for these fiery serpents is Nacheshim Saraphim. Seraphim is also found in (Isaiah 6:2) because they were the burning ones.  The name Nachash or shinning one was used they are shinning ones in appearance and looked like brass.

We see the serpent is a descriptive name for satan as is the old serpent ( 2 Corinthians 11:3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. Satan has also transformed himself into an angel of light which is to say a glorious angel ( 2 Corinthians 11:14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

The bible says he was more subtil than any beast of the field which the word subtil means he was more wise. Lets continue on with verse 2.

(Genesis 3:2-5) 2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:  3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Now to say Adam and Eve didn’t know right from wrong is far from the truth. The Lord told Adam is was right to obey him and eat of the trees of the garden God has chosen for his food and to avoid the tree of knowledge of good and evil for in the day that he ate thereof he would surely die. (Genesis 2:17) But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Eve repeated this knowledge of right from wrong that she has been taught by her husband and God when the devil twisted God’s word and deceived Eve into believing a lie. Jesus said the devil was a murderer  from the beginning and the father of lies who committed murder and attempted Genocide of the human race through his lies told in the garden of Eden. ( John 8 :44) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Eve understood right from wrong. The devil the serpent told her Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And Eve then said We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Satan then twisted God’s Word and said you shall not surely die God knows in the day you eat you will be as gods knowing good and evil. See Eve knew right from wrong but when she saw the tree was good for food and pleasent to the eyes and a tree desired to make one wise she ate of it and right then and there good and evil became a part of her very dna. The very building blocks that make us who we are were infiltrated by good and evil and thus it became part of mans nature and Eve gave to her husband and he did eat. Adam ate willingly and was not deceived bu the woman was and Adam being a type of Christ not willing to see his wife die alone stepped down from his place with God and ate and began his walk toward death. ( 1 Timothy 2:14) And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

In our next study we will cover how that Adam and Eve sewed together aprons made of fig leaves after they had hid from God’s Presence. Sin will seperate you from God and cause you to hide from his presence. They sewed these together to cover their nakedness which is to say to hide the fact that they had sinned. We always as men and women try to cover our sins and the only thing that can truly cover our sins is Jesus blood that was shed at Calvary.  We will finish this study by posting the 6th verse of Genesis ch. 3 and will pick up with verse 7 in our next study.

(Genesis 3:6)And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
